My Favorite YouTube Channels: Polymer Clay, Suncatchers, Art Neurodivergent Feels

Let’s talk YouTube.

I used to scroll aimlessly. Now, I scroll...strategically. These channels? They’re my creative co-workers, emotional support humans, and virtual art teachers rolled into one. Whether I’m sanding down a stubborn clay edge or deep in an RSD spiral, these creators have helped me feel less alone and taught me how to make pretty things with my hands. That’s a win.

Here’s who’s on my “go-to” list—each one brings something magical (or weirdly validating) into my little maker studio.

💖 Polymer Clay Queens of YouTube

Polly Collective: Polymer clay but make it designer. Her tutorials are sleek, playful, and full of clever techniques (hello, terrazzo obsession). Plus, her color combos? Always chef’s kiss.

Jessama Tutorials: If you like your polymer clay tutorials deeply soothing and packed with technical gold, Jessama is it. She makes you feel like you can master anything—no gatekeeping here.

Polymer Clay TV: They were doing polymer clay before it was trendy. Think mixed media, canes, texture, and lots of “you do you” energy. Ideal for days when I want to play and experiment.

✨ Suncatcher Sorcery

Vanir Creations DIY: If you’re obsessed with sparkly dangly things (hi, welcome), this channel is a must. Their suncatcher tutorials are mesmerizing—and also surprisingly achievable. It’s like ASMR meets rainbow engineering.

The Boho Beach Bum: If your soul feels happiest with salty air, sandy toes, and laid‑back creativity, The Boho Beach Bum is the kind of channel that feels like a warm hug from the ocean breeze. This channel blends wanderlust energy with artful living, featuring beachside adventures, DIY projects, and inspiring glimpses into a lifestyle rooted in simplicity, color, and soulful expression.

🎨 For the Love of Art (and Chaos)

Lets Make Art: Sometimes I need a break from clay. Enter watercolor, gouache, and fun art kits. Their vibe is: try it, mess it up, make it anyway. It’s structured enough to follow, but loose enough to feel playful—which is my kind of art therapy.

Art with Flo: is like a cozy art class in your pocket — full of warm energy, clear guidance, and that “you absolutely can do this” vibe. Flo’s tutorials are approachable for beginners but still inspiring for seasoned creatives. Whether she’s teaching you watercolor techniques, sketching playful scenes, or mixing colors that feel like sunshine and berries, her calm, encouraging style makes art feel possible even on the days your brain feels foggy or overwhelmed. Think of this channel as a creative friend cheering you on — paint brush in hand, coffee nearby, and a playlist of soft tunes in the background.

Bob Ross: Sometimes what your creative soul needs most isn’t a tutorial — it’s comfort. Enter Bob Ross, the soft‑spoken legend of paint and encouragement. Watching The Joy of Painting on YouTube feels like cozying up beside a warm fire with a fuzzy blanket and a cup of something good. Bob’s calm voice, gentle guidance, and signature “happy little” trees turn every painting session into a meditation, not a to‑do list. Even if painting isn’t your main medium (I mean, clay is life), his philosophy carries the same message I try to hold close in my studio: there are no mistakes, only happy accidents. Perfect background vibes for crafting, decompressing, or giving your sensory brain a soothing break.

🧠 Neurodivergent Feels & Real Talk

I'm autistic Now What: This channel helped me put language to things I always felt but didn’t know how to name. Insightful, validating, and full of gentle reminders that I'm not “too much”—I’m just wired different. And that’s okay.

Elyse Myers: Elyse is like if social anxiety had a hilarious spokesperson. Her storytelling is *everything*. Whether she’s talking about awkward moments, anxiety spirals, or self-acceptance, I laugh, cry-laugh, and nod along like she’s reading my diary.

Why This Matters

As someone with AuDHD, anxiety, and a creative brain that ping-pongs between hyperfocus and executive dysfunction, YouTube isn’t just entertainment—it’s connection. These creators teach me how to make, how to cope, and how to embrace the weird-wired way I move through the world.

So if you're looking for a little creative spark, a new technique to try, or a soft place to land on the hard days—these channels have your back.
